I liked the "Car" magazine in the sense that it has a good layout with a large image of a car towards the centre of the page with an interesting background which draws the reader in. One thing that I didn't like was the green banner at the top of the page and the green text throughout the front cover which I don't think stands out and looks ugly in my opinion for the front cover of the magazine. I took the inspiration of using a large image with a scenic background but I wanted to add another picture to make it look more interesting with a different type of car which shows a variety of cars like 4X4 and saloon cars.
I took inspiration of the title from the "Car" magazine with it being big and bold but I decided to do mine in red which I think stands out more against the background also it has "Fast" in the title which red is associated with danger, exciting, aggressive and is a colour which is quickly focused on.
I have took the idea of the cycle shapes with information in them from the "car" magazine which I have been looking at but I have changed it because I felt a red/green circle didn't look right on my magazine cover so I made the background in the circle to white and instead put a red thick outline around it to make it stand out. I used black text as it stood out against the white background.
I have added some interesting pictures on the front cover to draw the reader in and to want to buy my magazine by adding pictures like the hand built 5.5 litre V8 engine by Mercedes which is interesting to look at and I have talked about it in more detail in one of my pages on my magazine.
The example magazine which I have took inspiration from above is Star Cars which is talking about one of the cars they have featured in there magazine. What I have took from this magazine is that it has a large picture of the car which is the main focus and draws the readers eyes to it with a scenic background which makes the car look effective. The key facts of the car are displayed but they don't stand out on the Star Car magazine as it's missed with all the other text on the page. I chose to put the key information of the car in the centre of the page in red which makes the information stand out and with the colour red being assosiated with danger which makes it stand out a lot against the white background which makes the page look professional. The key stats of the car is what most readers want to look at almost straight away so I have made it easy to locate. I have decided to take images inside the car like the magazine which is a good idea to show the reader the cockpit so they can see what they would see as if they were getting into the car. I have decided to do something different and take pictures of external features like the tyres which are essential on this car to handling corners at extreme high speeds without even skidding.
The Star cars magazine provided more images of the car from the inside but I still provided an images of the car from the inside which the bucket ST seats make the inside aswell as the custom backseats which are different to the standard Fiesta. I have decided to make the page better than the Star Cars magazine by comparing the car to it's competitors by showing the different facts, pictures, advantages and disadvantages
